Monitoring a huge Elasticsearch cluster can be a challenge. If you have hundreds of nodes handling petabytes of data, the usual tools might be either too slow or too pricey for you. So I took Search::Elasticsearch for a ride to see how well it can be used to retrieve metrics efficiently. As first results are quite promising, it sounds like a good idea to share the story.
